Buds

Today Ryan and I went to play at Anna and Tad's house. The boys are 10 weeks apart in age so one day they will be chasing each other around and playing for hours. Right now they kind of look at each other and occasionally hand each other toys. They are super cute together and we're so lucky to have good friends to play with! The kiddos play and us mamas talk!  I think they kind of even look alike in some pictures, especially from the side. Two blondies with big blue eyes and chubby cheeks!

Lunch time with the boys!  Check out the baby food spread!~

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree.....How much does Ryan want to touch you?

So our big question this year with our tree was how are we going to keep Ryan from tearing up the tree or better yet, pulling it down on top of himself.  So, this is our solution.  Baby gate times 10= Baby fence!  It's already been worth its weight in gold since he walks up to it and tries to still touch the tree.  We figured the fence would save us from having to say "No Touch!" 10 million times.  Does it look pretty....well, NO is the answer to that, but oh well.  Maybe next year we can do without it!

Thanksgiving at Wrightsville Beach

Thanksgiving this year was full of pretty weather. It was mild and sunny which means it was great for little boys to go outside and explore! Ryan is so content being outside...a true boy he is. He loves all things in nature like dirt, grass, sticks, acorns, leaves, mulch, bushes and plants, and anything else that might be hanging around on our adventures outside. Here Poppy took Ryan down to the lawn at the condo for him to toddle around and explore so Mom and I could start our day long cooking marathon. I'm sure you can understand the value of not having a toddler pulling at your leg while chopping onions or broccoli! Poppy said that Ryan just sat at the edge of the natural area and played with the mulch and grass for 20 minutes or so without even moving. So content...he had nature, an empty water bottle and Poppy. What else could a little boy need?

Mama and CC check out the guys playing down on the lawn!

Thanksgiving Dinner.....and boy, was Ryan wearing it all over!  He had it in his hair, in his ears, and all over his face.  Must have been yummy!!  :)  He's a big boy eating lots of stuff these days.  He ate ham, homemade mac and cheese, hashbrown casserole, green beans, and sweet potato casserole.  I just get full thinking about it!  Yummy stuff!!

The Saturday night after Thanksgiving is the Wrightsville Beach Holiday Flotilla.  We went last year when I was 9 months prego and almost froze to death.  Miserable if you ask me.  We stood outside forever and it was freezing.  Not a good combo if you're 9 months pregnant!  This year was much better.  It was maybe 55 degrees so it was very tolerable plus we opted to just ride the elevator up to the 8th floor to see the view of the parade.  Much easier to deal with with a toddler in tow!  The parade was really short this year (maybe 20 minutes long) so Ryan got to see the whole thing before he headed to bed.  Here's some pics of us checking out the flotilla-

Looking over the railing at the boat and lights!

The boats were so pretty!

On our way back down to 2A!
This was our scene on Sunday morning as we woke up.  God's handiwork!

Thanksgiving in Farmville

Lee, Ryan and I went to Farmville on Wednesday night to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family. It was great to see them and enjoy our family time!

Lee helping his mom peel potatoes for our mashed potatoes for lunch~

Brian and Karen Long were visiting Brian's parents who live next door to Lee's parents.  Here Ryan is playing with Sarah, their 2 yr. old daughter.

Brian  has a big German Shepherd named Ty that came to visit and Ryan got to pet him.  He only got scared with Ty barked.

Ryan is on the move all the time now and trying to get him to stay still long enough to get a picture with him is so hard.  Here's an example of him trying to pat my face when we're trying to get a picture.
Ryan is ALL boy.  He loves to explore outside so much.  He loves to walk around in the grass, pick up sticks, mulch, grass, and any other things he can get his little fingers on.  Here he was wondering around the back yard and just plopped down to investigate things.

Cousin Matthew is all boy too.  We can't believe he's 5 now!  Time is flying by!

The "After" of Ryan's First Haircut

Mommy forgot to add an "After" of Ryan's first haircut when I did the post about his first haircut. Here's a look at it!!

Ryan's First Haircut

Ryan's hair had gotten quite long in the front, to the point that it was down to his nose when it was wet.  So....it was time for a haircut.  We took Ryan to see Rene, the lady that cuts both mine and Lee's hair, today for his first haircut.  He did good, just wondered why the stranger was doing something to his hair.  I guess getting haircuts will be a regular thing with a little boy.  I'm sure he'll get used to it eventually!   Here are a few pics of Ryan this morning to get an idea of how long his hair had gotten.  Any suggestions of what to do with the little pieces of hair that we saved and how to preserve them?
