We've had a pretty good week this week with the boys, specifically Ryan. He's been giving us the business lately and last weekend was just plain bad. But, the tides changed and the moon is no longer full and this week we started off great and kept on that path, mostly anyway. We're hoping for a good weekend this weekend. Here are a couple of pics from this week.
Who me??? I wasn't playing in the toilet Mama....
This kiddo is into EVERYTHING these days. All.The.Time. Including the trash cans and potties. But the one time the bathroom door doesn't happen to get closed, he wanders in and has a party (and obviously gets disciplined). And goes back for more, only to be disappointed that the bathroom door is closed. You get the idea, he's a busy boy. But a cute one! :)
I caught them reading together yesterday and had to get a shot.
Brotherly love....

Oh My Heart
This little guy just makes my heart melt. There's just no way around it. He does. He's such a cutie pie and is such a chill baby. He goes with the flow and is really a low maintenance kiddo, and has such a fun personality to top it off. He is constantly making us laugh. Tonight as I was putting him to bed in such a quiet house (Daddy and Ryan went to Lowe's) I was really hit with the fact that he'll be 16 months old next week and that this stage of babyhood is nearing an end. He's turning into a toddler before our eyes and I know if I blink too long summer will be here and he'll be a full fledged toddler. And I prayed....God, Please never let me forget these sweet moments in the rush of life. Seth laid his little head on my shoulder with Monkey in arm while I rocked him tonight before I laid him down. I never want to forget these tender moments. I know they will be replaced with others as equally as special, but man, these baby moments are just different and are so sweet.
This is such a classic Seth picture. He is known for having his mouth open just a tad with a very serious look, one of contemplation. When he's 15 and I stroll down memory lane and see a pic of him with this look I know it will take me back. This is the Seth look I see so much that is totally uniquely him.

Monkey
Seth has a lovey that we call "Monkey." He's an Angel Dear lovey and he has Seth's heart. Ryan has 2 Angel Dear lovies--Tiger and Rabbit--and he loves his too. All the kiddos we know that have lovies, have Angel Dear lovies and they are absolutely in love with them. I think all of David's kids have one too. Anyway, Seth loves Monkey (we just name things what they are around our house...no cutesy names...we're not super original obviously!). He will go into his room and get him out of his crib or off the floor (where he's thrown him) and run around the house with him. We tried to keep all lovies in the beds, but that little rule has really become lax lately. Now that Ryan is in a big boy bed he can get his anytime he wants plus he can get Seth's if Seth wants it. So, it's harder to enforce the rule that lovies must stay in the bed now. And really, there's no harm in them playing with them. Here's a pic of Seth this morning when I went to get him up from his morning nap. (We're still trying to nap in the mornings if we're at home and most of the time he will sleep.) It's just cute to see him snuggling his lovey. Lots of love there!!

Fun With The Laniers
The Laniers came over and hung out with us Saturday afternoon/evening for dinner and visiting. We rarely get to see each other even though we live in the same town so it's a treat to visit with this sweet family. It's hard to believe that Katie and I have known each other almost 20 years. Lots of history there! :) Here are a few pics of the kiddos together. Of course it takes about 30 pictures to get one that is semi good with all the kids looking in the right direction but here are a couple good ones. Charlie and Seth are only 3 weeks apart in age so I'm sure they'll be good playmates as they get a bit older. Ryan loves it when he gets to play with Eli. They play so well together and always have a
blast.
Everybody in their PJs!!

Let's Let Poppy Fix It
Ryan brought me his Hess truck's digger this morning and said, "Mama, it's not working. Let's let Poppy fix it." I guess he remembers around Christmas time when Poppy and CC gave it to him and it was having trouble working and Poppy fixed it (returned it and got another one that worked:) ). He laid it on the end table this morning and said it would rest until Poppy fixed it. Little does he know that it probably only needs batteries and Mama can handle that, but it's so cute that he just assumes that Poppy can "fix it" much like only Poppy can do with certain things. Little guys learn fast. Poppy CAN fix anything bud, you're right.
