Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is Lee's 35 birthday!!!  Yep, he's joined the rest of us into the "over 35" catageory.  We're officially middle aged I guess, but who feels like it?  We certainly don't.  We still feel young and vibrant and definately not middle aged.  My cute hubby is an awesome daddy and a wonderful husband and I'm so glad we're a perfect match for each other.  Life is good and always sweeter with the love of your life by your side.  Happy Birthday Lee!!!

Today I was able to get Ryan to say "Happy" and something sort of like birthday but it was more like "bdaa".  So sweet.  We practiced a few times so when Daddy came home from work he could say it.

Here are some pics of Lee and Ryan....they are from when we were at Topsail a few weeks ago but none the less, they are good Ryan & Daddy pics :)

Fun Beach Day with our Buddies

Today we went to the beach with a group of buddies.  Today was probably the last day that we will probably get to go to the beach with the Cape girls.  They are moving to Atlanta on July 8 and we're not looking forward to it!  Ryan and Savannah (and Kennedy) have been great playmates during the last year and a half and we hate to see them leave Wilmington. Savannah was probably one of Ryan's very first playmates.   Here's Savannah and Ryan holding hands again.  Super cute.  Savannah is probably saying, "Come on Ryan!!" and he's probably just giggling.  I'll do another post about the Cape's and post some pics from when the kiddos were little another day.  I'll get a few more shots next week when we say goodbye to add to our collection!

Left to Right:  Kennedy, Ryan, Savannah, Nola and Hudson.  A bunch of cuties, right?

Our Little Fellow- 22 Weeks

Today I had another ultrasound to take a peek at our little fellow.  He's doing great!  He's about 1 lb. 3 oz right now.  He's head down, hanging out on my bladder (just like Ryan did).  He's kicking and punching me up a storm these days.  It was really neat to be able to SEE him kicking or punching while feeling it at the same time.  Sooooo cool.  He's growing well and the docs have seen nothing abnormal!  Yay!  I'm feeling great these days.  I've been very fortunate to have felt great the whole pregnancy.  I am just now feeling pregnant at times, and the baby bump is finally obvious.  Here's a pic of me at 22 weeks!

Mama's Birthday/Father's Day Weekend

A few days late....but better late than never!!

Poppy and CC came in town for my birthday and Father's Day weekend.  We headed out to the condo to stay with them and have a fun weekend.  Mom, Dad, Ryan and I hit the beach on Saturday (along with everyone else in the world, it seemed like) and had a blast.  Ryan is really having fun with the beach these days.  Lee stayed up in the condo to study so that on Sunday he could go out to the beach in the morning with us.  We got a babysitter for Saturday night for my birthday and us adults headed out for a nice night on the town.  We had dinner out and headed downtown to take a horse and carriage tour of downtown.  We love to do that.  Mom and Dad had as much fun as we did!  It was a treat to get out on the town without Ryan in tow.  On Sunday we had fun on the beach with the whole family and Daddy even got to join us.  What a great birthday and Father's Day weekend!

Water Day

Last week the Bruton's hosted another water day for the kiddos.  This is so much fun for the them!  Anna has a water table, baby pool, small sprinkler and tons of toys for the kids to play with.  They also have a great backyard for this....lots of shade and an open area!  All of these little guys were born within 4 months of each other so they are really close in age.   It's so fun to watch them change and grow together!  Here are some pics of our water day event!

Playtime Tonight

Ryan and Mama had a BUSY day today!  We had a dentist appointment for Ryan this morning at 8am.  Ouch!  That was early!  We usually are NOT moving out and about by 8am unless we're walking in the neighborhood.  This got us out and ready to go early!  He did pretty good at his appointment, just screamed when they were looking at his teeth.  No cavities and he got a fluoride treatment so we'll be good to go for a few months.  After his appointment we decided to hit the ground running doing some errands.  We headed to the bank, got gas at Sam's, went to the dry cleaners, went to the copy store, went to the gym for Mama to exercise and then came home for lunch.  Whoo!  We were pooped!  Then, after nap time (for both of us) we headed to the grocery store.  Harris Teeter has Super Double coupons going on this week and I wanted to make sure we took part in some really good deals that I didn't get earlier in the week.  We saved about $60 today.  Yippee!  By the time we got home it was time to unload the groceries and get dinner going.  Wow.  We've been super busy today.  So.....after dinner Ryan was saying "outside" over and over and we knew he wanted to go outside to play for a few minutes before bath and bed.  He'd been a good sport all day and really hadn't had too much time to play all day except when he was at the gym.  We went next door to our neighbors backyard for him to run around.  The house is vacant and is for sale so there's nobody over there.  Perfect for a change of scenery for him.  Here are a couple pics of our quick playtime tonight!

Beach Day with the Cape Girls

Today Ryan and I went to the beach with the Cape girls.  We always have fun with them!  Here's a few pics from today.  They will be moving soon and we're really going to miss them.  We've become great friends and will hate to see them leave ILM!

Loving the wagon rides.  Ryan kept saying, "Ride."  Poor Casey was getting worn out pulling this heavy load of youngins'!

Ryan and Savannah.  So stinkin' cute!  Savannah is only 6 months older than Ryan but she looks older that that.  She's a tall little girl and well, you know Ryan doesn't exactly have too many tall genes in his favor.  (At his 18 month well check he was only about 55% in height.)  They love to hold hands and it was fun to see them do that at the edge of the water.  They were just a laughing and stuff.  So funny!

Fun days with good friends!!!

Father's Day

We had a busy weekend with Poppy and CC at the beach celebrating my birthday and Father's Day.  We hit the beach on both Saturday and Sunday and had a blast.  We also got a babysitter for Saturday night so us adults could go to dinner and go out for a bit without Ryan.  Sometimes it's more fun for us if he's otherwise preoccupied!  :)  We had a yummy dinner at Terrazzo's and then headed downtown to enjoy the low humidity and went for a horse and carriage ride.  Mom and Dad had never done that before so it was a treat for us all!  I'll post pics from the weekend later.  For some reason I didn't take my camera out a single time while we were at the beach.  Poppy took pics so I need to get some from him to post.

When we all got back home on Sunday afternoon, Lee took a break from studying to play and hang with Ryan.  He wanted Daddy to read to him.  Here's a few pics of my guys together on Father's Day.  Enjoy!!  :)

Hanging with Tad

Anna and Tad came over to visit today which worked out great since it's been raining all day.  Ryan got to show Tad his new train table which was fun.  It's been a while since I got some pics of the boys together so I decided to break out the camera and see if I could catch them in action.  Two moving toddlers make it a bit tough to get some good pics, but we tried!!

Anna was reading Tad Ryan's Curious George Pat-A-Cake book.  He loved it!!  It's one of Ryan's new favorite books these days.

Uncle Jay taught Ryan how to give knuckles or bump fists while we were at Topsail last week.  Here Ryan is trying to get Tad to do "knuck" as he calls it.  Tad had never done it before so he thought Ryan wanted to hold hands.  Too funny.
Look at these two boys!  Haven't they grown!!!  Gonna be best buds!

Topsail Island part 2

Nana is reading to her two boys a book about being a big brother.  Ryan really liked reading this book during the week.  Let's hope some of it sinks in before October!!
Annual family picture!

Some pics on the beach of Ryan.  He loves picking up shells and running on the beach.  He's not too fond of the water but is slowly getting more interested.

Getting his toes wet.

Safe in the hands of Nana and Grandy.  Ryan got LOTS of lovin' from Nana and Grandy this past week.  He was in heaven.
