Seth--3 Months
Our little Seth turned 3 months old a few days ago. Wow. We're officially out of the newborn phase and into infant/baby stuff. Seth seems to have hit a little growth spurt and has put on some weight. Last week when we had to take Ryan to the doctor for yet another cold I had them weigh Seth. He weighed 11 lbs 12 ozs last Wed. I bet he's over 12 lbs by now.
Some things Seth is up to these days:
Some things Seth is up to these days:
- He is holding his head up a lot. He's not a newborn that likes to cuddle on your shoulder anymore. He'd rather have his head perched up looking around.
- He is tracking things a lot--following who is talking to him and looking around to see where noise is coming from.
- He is getting a couple of little rolls on his legs and his little arms seem to be getting thicker. Maybe he'll chunk up?? Ryan seemed to really start chunking up around this stage. We'll see!
- He loves his play gym. He enjoys listening to the music and watching the lights flash.
- He is really smiling a lot and is trying to laugh. It's so fun to talk to him and get a big reaction from him. It's so sweet to see that big grin. Melts my heart!!
- He's struggling with naps. He has a hard time sleeping past 30 minutes of a nap. He goes through a sleep cycle and it wakes him up. We went through this with Ryan. The 30 minute napper. It's hard. Some days if he makes it through the 30 minute cycle without waking we can get a long nap. It's just more rare than normal. Yesterday he took a 3 hr nap. Today it was no longer that 30 minutes at a clip.
- He sleeps good at night but is still waking twice to nurse. I'm starting to feel fatigued.....
- Ryan LOVES this little guy. And Seth likes to watch Ryan and all his toddler antics. I'm just afraid that one day I'll come into the room and Ryan will be sitting on Seth. Maybe not??!!?? I'm hoping they'll be best buds one day. Time will tell.
- Nursing is still going. Some days are better than others. It had gotten a lot better since Christmas but the last 3-4 days have been rough. Hopefully he'll move past this and we can at least make it to 6 months. Hopefully??
Our Boys
Just a couple of pics from this week-
Ryan LOVES is little bro. He's never too far away from where ever Seth is. Love. It.

The Loop
Ryan has been sick again this week so on Tuesday he missed preschool. It was a nice day so I decided we needed to get out of the house but yet keep Ryan away from other kids. It was time for me to take the boys on Seth's maiden voyage around the loop! I'm sure there are plenty of people that wouldn't think anything of taking 2 kids to do that, but adding an infant into the equation really changes how we can get out and about. Especially since Seth nurses every 2 hours. We made it and all sent smoothly with no meltdowns. I am ready to do it again! Now, if only the weather would just stay nice!!

Beach Trip in January!
We decided since it was going to be 70-something today we should head to the beach and let the boys play. We were hoping that they would enjoy playing and digging in the sand and not pay attention to the water this trip. We'll have plenty of time for that. Just not right now!! They had a BALL. It was so fun and such a good trip to the beach. They played and played and played--only in the sand. Tad and Ryan are a busy pair of boys. Their preschool teacher for next year better get ready!! :)
Anna and Tad- Anna is due in April with their second boy. Our kiddos are going to have a blast growing up together. 4 boys total for our 2 families...it's going to be a busy!!

Here's a pic from last night when the Laniers came over. Charlie and Seth had fun looking at the play gym !

While Daddy is Gone, Trip #1
Lee had to go to Baltimore this week for 4 days. This was the first of 4 business trips he's going to be taking in the next 6 weeks. We aren't excited about him being gone this much! We missed him a bunch.
Poppy and CC came up this week to help me out with the kiddos, which I appreciated tremendously. Here are some pics from this week while Daddy was gone-

Christmas in Burlington, part 2
It was super cold or rainy much of our trip so we couldn't play outside a bunch. Alamance County's Children's Museum recently opened so we decided we should check it out and let Ryan run and play some. Here are some pics from our trip to the museum.
Amanda, a childhood friend, and her mom and kiddos came over for a visit one of the days we were there. It was great to see them and catch up!
Christmas in Burlington, part 1
On Christmas Eve we headed to Burlington to visit my parents. Lee left on Wednesday and the boys and I stayed until Saturday. Daddy had to work but I was in no rush to come back home so Poppy drove the boys and I and met Lee on Saturday morning for the "hand off." (I'm sure he was glad to get rid of us by then!! )
Ryan's checking out the scene...can I touch these breakables or not??? HMMM....let me try?!!
Santa Clause brought Ryan several new books!
