Christmas in Farmville

Last weekend we headed to Farmville to start our Christmas visits.  We had a nice weekend hanging out with family and friends.  The weather was so mild--like 75 degrees-- so we played outside a ton and enjoyed being out in the yard playing with the neighbors.

It was a "take pics of Seth" kind of day on Saturday.  I haven't had a chance to shoot him lately so this was a perfect opportunity to take some pics of him.  Ryan was running around like a crazy boy so I really couldn't take too many pictures of him.  Plus, he really just doesn't like me to take a lot of pictures of him anyway.

Ryan loved playing with Sarah, the granddaughter of the next door neighbors.  They had a blast pretending and getting pulled in the wagon.  Ryan enjoyed getting to see Matthew too.  We let Ryan skip his afternoon nap that day and he played HARD all afternoon with Matthew.  It was a busy day for us!

We had a great visit with the Crafts!!

Brian brought his German Shepard Ty and Seth loved him.  Seth really likes dogs....Ryan, however does not so Ryan didn't really want to talk to Ty.  Seth just barked at Ty and pointed and wanted to talk to him. This pic is of Brian getting Ty to talk to Seth.

Matthew and Ryan drew all over the patio with chalk.  They were so dirty!

Seth was lovin' some Ty!

Enchanted Airlie

Tonight we headed to Enchanted Airlie to see Santa and all of the beautiful lights.  It was so pretty and to top it all off we saw 2 trains.  Next year we'll know to look at the trains last.  Ryan didn't want to leave them and wanted to see more trains the whole way through.  I think we'll definitely try to do this again while the kiddos are small.  It's so pretty.

We FINALLY got to see Santa.  We thought if it was crowded that we might not get to see him but it worked out perfectly.  We waited maybe 10 minutes and got to see him.  Ryan had told me that he was NOT going to sit on Santa's lap but as it turned out, Santa coaxed him up on his knee.  Seth however, wanted nothing to do with Santa.  He screamed and cried so Lee had to hold him.  Poor guy, he was scared.  Ryan was scared at Seth's age too though so I wasn't totally surprised.  Maybe next year it will go smoother for the little guy.

Ryan's Christmas Program

Ryan's Christmas program was this morning.  We were anxious to see how he did and to see if he would actually sing.  There's so much for them to look at while they are on stage so it's easy to get distracted.  He did well....sat still, didn't cry, and sang and little bit.  He said he had fun so I'm glad!  His little class was so cute all lined up with their reindeer shirts on!

He's holding the rope that the teachers use to take them from place to place.  Last year they had to ride on "the bus" but this year they can walk holding the rope.  Progress people, progress!

After the program they had a little Christmas snack in their classroom.  The kids got loaded up on sugar, that's for sure.  Lots of cookies, juice, etc.

This morning we were getting ready for Sadie to come over and do some Christmas crafts and Ryan lined up several crayons, glitter glues, etc and started counting....so grabbed the camera to catch it!

Ryan's 3rd Birthday Party

We had Ryan's 3rd birthday party this past Saturday.  We had the "party" portion of the birthday party at the condo community room and then we all caravaned over to the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department for a tour of a fire truck and safety lesson.  We had lots of food and fun on Saturday!  The kiddos seemed to have a blast both at the condo and at the WBFD.  We had lots of friends and family come to help us celebrate our little guy turning 3!

Ryan gobbled up his cupcake!  He had been talking about eating one for days!

Our Afternoon Walks

We've been having fun lately in the afternoons with Ryan riding his "helicopter" (as he calls it) around the neighborhood while I push Seth in the BOB.  It gives Ryan a chance to get outside and get some exercise and just be outdoors.  He loves to stop and check things out along our walk.  It's not really exercise for me because there's no way I'm going to get my heart rate up since he stops and starts so much, but this walk isn't for me.  It's for my big boy.  He loves it and I love watching him ride and explore.  These are the moments I want to remember yrs from now....not the times he's working my nerves.  These can be hard days.  Being 3 is hard for a little guy.  He's a little person with real emotions and feelings.....and loves to express them!  Being able to get outside and play is just a fun way for all of us to enjoy some time together.

Look Mama, this rock is big!

And how can a Mama not get a little tear in her eye when her little boy still likes to pick flowers for her?  I hope he never gets tired of picking flowers for me!!  :)

Our 2 boys.....ready for a walk!!
