Halloween

Happy Halloween from our little doggy and our big pirate!!!  The boys had so much fun going Trick or Treating tonight.  We enjoyed walking around our neighborhood and the boys loved going up to people's houses to ring the doorbells.  We now have WAY too much candy.  I have no idea what we're doing to do with it all.  We'll see!

2 Yr Well Check

Seth had his 2 yr well check on Tuesday.  He weighs 22.2 lbs and is now on the growth chart.  He's 4th % for weight and 3rd % for height.  He did good and Dr. Renton was pleased with his growth and all of his developmental markers.  He's talking so much more than he was even just 3-4 weeks ago.  He had the flu mist, dental varnish and his finger pricked but no shots.  He wasn't happy when we left but overall it was a good visit.  We'll see Dr. Renton again for a 30 month well check to keep up with Seth's growth progress.

Playing With Sadie

These two are the best of friends.  They had a ball last week playing at the Wrightsville Beach Park.  We had both of our plasma cars and they rode them down the ramp at the amphitheater over and over.  Such fun!!

Catching Up

What Mama???  Did you not want me to throw my blueberry applesauce all over the floor and wall?  I had to talk to the nurse at the pediatrician's office for 5 minutes last week and this is what happened.  Our walls are now stained from Seth's shenanigans.  Mama was NOT happy.
Reading with Daddy before bed.
Thursday we went to a gymnastics place and the kids had a ball.  Here Fletcher and Seth are in the foam pit playing.  They were so cute that day.  They both had on yellow shirts and grey pants so they looked alike with their blonde hair.

Seth's 2nd Birthday!!

Seth turned 2 today!!!  I can't believe he's already 2!  Time has flown by.  Seth's the cutest little fellow and has a sweet personality to add to the cuteness.  He's really progressing with his speech and we can almost understand most of what he's trying to get across to us.  He's made a lot of progress with talking in the last 2-3 weeks.
Things he's up to these days:
  • LOVES all things trains
  • Loves to read books
  • Loves Ryan, known to Seth as "bruh-dur" for brother
  • Is an outdoorsy kinda kid
  • is enjoying preschool and seems to be doing well there
  • is eating like a typical toddler and is roughly 22 lbs
  • his hair is getting thicker and is more blonde than it used to be and not near as curly as Ryan's was

Puzzles for Seth

Seth has really gotten into doing puzzles.  He loves the wooden puzzles that he can put each piece into it's spot.  He's not quite ready for jigsaw puzzles but he wants to do them so badly.  It'll come in time boy, and we've got plenty for him to work on!  Tonight Seth did about 10 puzzles over and over.  He kept wanting him to do them so I just sat there and let him.  He loved it!

Playing With Friends

This week we had a couple of fun playdates with friends.  Tuesday we went to Airlie Gardens and Thursday we hit the beach.  Fun times!!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we headed to Wesley United Methodist Church to get our annual pumpkins.  The kids were so excited, especially Ryan.  We went a little overboard in getting pumpkins for our front porch but the kids were having a ball.  Picking pumpkins is one of our favorite holiday traditions!

Daddy and the boys heading to the pumpkin patch.
Ryan's so excited!  He wanted to touch and pick every pumpkin he saw!
Little guy is pushing with all his might but the wagon isn't going move!
What about this one Daddy?????  And this one???  And this one???

Soccer Game 10/4

Ryan has been touch and go with soccer.  The first game was good then the 2nd and 3rd games were pretty rough.  We talked to him about how soccer is supposed to fun, and he needed to run around, and try to kick the ball.  We even brought out the big guns.  Yes, we bribed him.  We don't do this often but we felt it necessary for this occasion.  If he played and had a good attitude he could have a donut after the game as a treat.  He did great.  He had a good attitude and he had none of the whining that had occurred the weeks before.  He tried, he ran, he kicked and most of all he had fun.  That's all we wanted was him to have some fun (and try to play of course!).  At his games they have a 30 minute practice with drills before their 30 minute game.  We're in and out within an hour and he's pooped.
Here he's doing a drill.  When the coach says sit on the ball they have to sit.

Daddy and Coach Mike giving encouragement.

Cheering his teammates on, lying down on the side of the field.

Little Bro couldn't help but sit on Ryan's back and try to play with him.

Last Weekend's Beach Time

Last weekend we hit the beach on Sunday afternoon.  It was perfect weather, the kids played well and didn't get wet and it was an overall success.  Maybe we'll get another day or two in before the seasons truly change for good.
