Busy Airport Day!

Ryan and I were outside before lunch today playing and we had lots of entertainment. The ILM airport is just a couple of miles from out house and we are in the flight pattern for landing planes so we get to see (and hear) planes all day long. Today was an extra busy day at the airport. It seemed that lots of the bigger planes were doing "touch and goes" practicing their landing and taking off skills. Poppy has told us that pilots do this quite often to stay sharp with their skills. Anyway, Lee had told me that The President's plane Air Force One does touch and goes at our airport so we've been on the look out for the plane. Today was one of those practice days because we saw Air Force One (or at least a plane that looks like it that says United States of America on the side of it)land and take off about 6-7 times! That plane is unbelievably huge! Especially for our small airport! It's kind of neat that we get to see one of the Presidential planes come and go around here!

 

 

This is a HUGE Coast Guard plane that we see every so often.  It's really large too!  What's crazy is that since we live so close to the airport, these planes are very low over our house so we can seem them very well.   

One of the fleet of Air Force One  (or at least a huge plane that says UNITED STATES OF AMERICA)!!  It is my understanding that there are several in the fleet so I guess this is just one of the many that our country has??

 

Lee thinks this one is an Air Force plane but we're not totally sure.
